Our Children’s Workshop began with a dream.
In 1998, Alma Cruz founded the school with a simple but powerful vision to create a nurturing place where children could learn, grow, and feel truly cared for. What started as a heartfelt dream became a trusted learning center for families in the Pompano Beach community. Alma believed that early childhood education should be rooted in compassion, structure, and opportunity. Her dedication laid the foundation for a school built on warmth, integrity, and a deep commitment to children and families. After Alma’s passing, her daughter Monica Cruz chose to carry that vision forward. With strength, love, and determination, Monica continued the work her mother began, preserving the heart of the school while guiding it into a new era of growth. Nearly three decades later, Our Children’s Workshop stands as a living tribute to Alma’s dream and Monica’s leadership. What began as one school has grown into a thriving network of learning centers serving families across Broward County. Today, Monica has created her own legacy inspired by her mother, by opening two additional schools, ensuring that more children and families benefit from the same care, standards, and educational excellence that started it all.
